UH Coastal Center’s mission is to support environmental education, research, and service on the Texas coast. Its ~925 acres encompass a mosaic of habitats: coastal prairie, forested & manmade wetlands, & coastal prairie being restored. Since 2017, it is the home of the Texas Institute for Coastal Prairie Research and Education.
